Dave is a former academic who is now an author. He’s published five books, two study guides to Scottish films (Rob Roy and Local Hero), a co-authored book in support of the Yes vote in the 2014 Scottish referendum (Luath, 2014), the psychological thriller Lost Bodies (Kennedy and Boyd, 2012) and, most recently, The Anti-Hero’s Journey: the Work and Life of Alan Sharp (Peter Lang, 2023), a critical biography of one of Scotland’s greatest novelists and screenwriters.
