I am also a retired 'athlete,' having run long-distance and played rugby at a competitive level during my high school years. I now keep my extremely limited athletic prowess for golf only.
I have only recently uncovered my passion for writing, and would like to continue stoking this passion and follow it to wherever it takes me. I was a big reader in my younger years, and that stayed with me till my mid-teens, when I wanted to be 'cooler'. I set aside my reading and writing interests, and then traded them for drinking and other teenager-ish tomfooleries. It was only a while ago that I realised (with some help from my other half) that I really do love writing, and I have missed putting pen to paper, or rather fingers to keyboard.
Now, here I am. The needle is back in the groove, and I could not be happier about it.
