The justice seekers

A poem dedicated to those, like Epstein's victims, who travel the long road seeking out truth and justice

Finding justice is like clawing your way up a mountain in bad weather without proper equipment or survival supplies! The fight costs time, money, health, stress and part of your very being. Justice may take years to find, but no fight is pointless; the future will hopefully benefit from your efforts.

When the world turns dark and hope is gone and day a constant night,
Sometimes we find those special ones who search to find the light.

They seek, they challenge, they do their best to bring truth to open air,
They confront the lies, but in the fray, they sometimes feel despair.

Intrepid travellers this band of hope, forgotten heroes all,
Onwards they travel a difficult path with justice their ultimate goal.

But in good time their goal is reached, and truth can be revealed,
The road is long, the battle hard, against truth that is concealed.

Recognition they do not pursue, reward is not an aspiration,
Truth is what they seek to find with justice their only ambition.

I'm an active Glaswegian, retired from teaching and now working part time as an Invigilator. I also enjoy working in the volunteer sector. My most prized role is a volunteer for Blind Veterans. Here I have the honour of working with Veterans, helping with research and editing, enabling them to bring their memoirs into print and vocal recordings of their work.
