Town Fox

Pesky fox wins every time! Drive for survival triumphs over human sleep – as urbanisation spreads, fox visits have become commonplace

When darkness falls, and all is still,
Town fox comes out to prowl.
Seeking meals in local bins.
Nightly creating an awful din,
He disturbs all sleep and calm.

Many doors fly open wide and
Cries of “Pesky fox!” resound.
“Give us peace you awful pest!”
“Stop the noise and let us rest!”
Are heard around the sleepy town.

Fox just halts and stares them out.
In his good time, he turns about.
With his head a show of pride,
And a look that does deride,
Undeterred, he travels on.

As back to bed humans retreat,
Where sleep is hard to find,
Tenacious fox on his mission proceeds,
Determined to find his nightly feast,
He slowly wanders on!
