Alec Ross

Alec Ross

Alec Ross was brought up at the family farm near Portpatrick and now owns and runs his own farm supply business - Biocell Agri. He services clients from Lerwick to Lands’ End from his home in Lochans, which he shares with his wife Mhairi and their two sons, 18 and 20. Strange names, but there you go. He writes a regular column for The Orkney News. He was educated at Portpatrick Primary School and then Stranraer Academy, before attending Edinburgh University. He is President of Stranraer Ice Rink Curling Club, Chairman of Lochans Community Council, golfs regularly, and is the Chairman of Stranraer Burns Club. He regularly speaks at Burns Suppers, and his ongoing interest in politics has seen him appear on both television and radio. His wife tolerates these activities with admirable stoicism.
