Read moreLucy Beattie is a Doctor of Philosophy at the School of Education and Social Sciences, University of West Scotland. She also holds an undergraduate degree from Harper Adams in Rural Enterprise and Land Management. Starting out on an upland sheep farm, Lucy Beattie has worked for the Scottish Crofting Federation training programme and has a background in rural and community development. Currently Lucy is a PhD researcher with the University of the West of Scotland looking at the connections between teaching, research and public engagement in STEM. She lives near Ullapool in the North-West Highlands of Scotland.
