Martin Roche talks to Edinburgh University’s Professor James Mitchell about his new book, Unfinished Business, which he’s written with former Labour First Minister Henry MacLeish.

Their book looks back at 25 years of Scottish devolution and sets out an agenda for discussion on how the governance of Scotland might be improved.

James Mitchell is a preeminent figure in helping us understand what shapes and changes politics in Scotland. In the interview, he comments on the rise of Reform, and the issues facing Labour in Scotland. He also discusses the importance of the book’s focus on developing structures to strengthen Scottish economic performance.

The interview is a “must listen” for all who want to see government in Scotland evolve to better serve the country.
